Oldest son (and only son) of the great House Mera, Lysander was raised with three younger sisters. Their ways confused him and troubled him, and he lived in constant fear of having his hair done up or having makeup put on him during his afternoon nap. He learned quickly the value of a locked door and a private getaway, running to the archery grounds of Mera when he didn't feel safe in his own room.

It became apparent soon enough that he had quite the amount of skill in archery. The more he trained himself, the better his aim became. He had no skill with horses, and dragons seemed more interested in eating him than in letting him ride, and so he stuck with archery. His skills grew, better and better, even at his young age.

When he was fourteen, he was taken to the house of an ally family -- House Taerin. There, his parents arranged for him to marry the eldest daughter of the house when both of them came of age. The girl's name was Irene, and Lysander thought she was cute enough, for a girl, but she was still a girl and that was a bit icky. Cooties and all. All the same, the arrangements were made, and Lysander shortly returned home.

He grew up, getting more and more terrified of his sisters as the years went on. Their pranks involving him only became more convoluted, and gossip circled the house grounds. It was soon extinguished by his parents, but Lysander remained the brunt of many jokes for quite some time.

One thing he actually found himself good at besides archery was falconry. They were the only animals anywhere nearby that seemed to get along with him, and so he took to training them. He's very fond of all the birds he's trained, and has quite some skill at training them as well. He has parted with one of his most-favored birds, presenting it as a gift to Lady Irene, at his parents' request.

He saw Irene again from time to time, and the plans for their betrothal marched on. Lysander, by now 22 years old, could admit easily that she was pretty, maturing into a beautiful and wise young woman, but still wasn't sure she was his type -- or even the other way around. Still, it was what his parents wanted, and he was supposed to love Irene so they could be married.

Jumpy and anxious, and yet eager to please. Lysander's always had the pressure of measuring up placed onto his shoulders -- he has to set an example for his sisters. This is very hard to do when they're constantly playing cruel jokes on you. But he still does his best, trying to please his parents and keep his sisters off his back at the same time.

When it does come to the things he's good at, though, such as his archery and his falconry, he's not modest, though he doesn't exactly brag either. He's honest about his talents--which he knows he has--but tries not to exaggerate them or rub other people's faces in the dirt when it comes to them. He's proud of what he can do, and that's good enough--though deep down he strives for and dreams of praise.

He's still the brunt of many jokes around Mera. He despises this, and when asked will blame it entirely on his sisters. Whom he is still terrified of.

In fact, girls in general confuse him to the point of babbling like an idiot. He doesn't understand them. He doesn't pretend to understand them. If he ever did understand girls, his sisters drove it right out of him. Now, in fact, he's rather intimidated by women, including his betrothed, and is rather horrible at hiding the fact.

He's still not sure of his exact attitude toward Irene of Taerin. But--she is his betrothed, and surely this is what's expected of him, so he loves her.

Or so he claims, anyway.

Absurdly skinny. He often comes down will colds or fevers, which most people attribute to the fact that he has no meat on his bones. He's short, skinny, and all the knights (along with his sisters) talk about how they can see his ribs through his clothes. He resents the fact that he has such a small frame. He also has lavender-blue hair hanging around his chin, and dark purple eyes, which do not help dissuade people from making jokes.
